Who is responsible

Articles and recipes are published by the Garden UK Editorial Team. The team researches, drafts and maintains the site's guidance.

This is a real editorial responsibility, not a substitute personal identity. Matt W is Garden UK's Editorial Director.

He oversees editorial standards and commercial independence. Matt co-founded Greenhouse Stores in 2012 and has 16 years of garden-industry experience.

Matt uses a shortened public name and does not publish a personal photograph. These privacy choices do not change our responsibility.

Matt is named as a reviewer only after materially reviewing that page. His background appears on his Greenhouse Stores profile.

How we handle evidence

We separate published horticultural guidance, technical data and contributor records. We do not present one type as another.

• Source research: RHS, government, university, charity and recognised horticultural material where relevant.
• Technical information: dimensions, timings and specifications checked against suitable primary or authoritative sources.
• Contributor field records: observations supplied to the editorial team and labelled as such.
• Named review: shown only after that person has checked the individual page.

Some older articles contain field records supplied under an earlier byline. We are reviewing those records.

They are not reassigned to Matt W or described as his personal trials.

UK-first guidance

Advice is written for British seasons, terminology and units. We identify regional variation, frost risk and safety issues where relevant.

We do not simply relabel advice written for another climate.

Fact-checking and freshness

We check factual claims and links before substantial updates. Articles are revised when guidance, legislation or pest threats change.

Product information is also reviewed when relevant. A modified date appears after a meaningful editorial update.

Monetisation and integrity

Paid directory listings, sponsored material, affiliate links and advertising are labelled where they appear.

These commercial arrangements remain separate from editorial decisions. Payment does not buy a favourable recommendation inside an independent guide.

Corrections

Email editor@gardenuk.co.uk with the page address and supporting information.

We investigate credible reports and correct confirmed errors. Material changes receive an updated date.
